Her Nibs

Billed as “Her Nibs,” Miss Georgia Gibbs (she got her nickname from Garry Moore) hosted a fifteen-minute summer musical show entitled GEORGIA GIBBS’ AND HER MILLION RECORD SHOW/NBC/1957 featuring renditions of best-selling records (over a million copies sold) played by the Eddie Safranski orchestra.


Miss Gibbs was the recipient of her own million selling gold records (which she sang on the show) including “Dance With Me, Henry,” “Kiss of Fire,” and “Tweedle Dee.” Her program was aired on Mondays before the evening news.


Born in Philadelphia, Jerome Alphonse Holst worked 30 years as a librarian. He has since retired and lives in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mr. Holst is also the author of the children’s books “Norman the Troll,” "Norman the Troll and the Haunted House," and "Gretchen and the Gremlins." In addition, he penned the fantasy novel “The Adventures of Glinda Gale,” a retelling of “The Wizard of Oz" and the reference text “The Encyclopedia of Movie and TV Insults.” .
