Hag of Haute Couture, The

Self proclaimed title of RuPaul, a 6-foot, 7-inch drag queen who hosted his own celebrity chit-chat program THE RuPAUL SHOW/VH1/1996. The program featured guests like Diana Ross, Patti Labell, Cher, k.d. lang, Lynda Carter, Menudo, and The Backstreet Boys.


Other credits of this blond bombshell included the “Foxy Lady” album, spokes-model for MAC cosmetics, RuPAUL’S DRAG RACE/LOGO TV/2009-2017, RuPAUL’S DRAG U/LOGO TV/2010-2012, GAY FOR PLAY GAME SHOW STARRING RuPAUL/LOGO TV/2016, and a cameo role as Mrs. Cummings in the film A Very Brady Sequel (1996).

RuPaul also referred to himself as “The Supermodel of the World” and “Foxy Lady.” He also earned the title “America’s First Lady of Drag.”

Born in Philadelphia, Jerome Alphonse Holst worked 30 years as a librarian. He has since retired and lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.
