Bones (3)

The nickname of Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), a headstrong forensic anthropologist and part-time crime novelist on the crime drama BONES/FOX/2005-2017.

She earned her nickname (“Don’t call me Bones!”) because she works with skeletal remains of murder victims at the Jeffersonian Institute Medico-Legal Lab in Washington, DC.

She also dislikes being called “Squints” – a moniker given to brainy researchers (science geeks) by the FBI Agents, whom Temperance collaborates with during criminal investigations.

Born in Philadelphia, Jerome Alphonse Holst worked 30 years as a librarian. He has since retired and lives in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mr. Holst is also the author of the children’s books “Norman the Troll,” "Norman the Troll and the Haunted House," and "Gretchen and the Gremlins." In addition, he penned the fantasy novel “The Adventures of Glinda Gale,” a retelling of “The Wizard of Oz" and the reference text “The Encyclopedia of Movie and TV Insults.” .
